In a quiet little square, behind a red door in a former vicarage, lies a house steeped in history and a garden where you can relax in peace.
The Belgian Girl is a small, intimate bed and breakfast and event venue in the historic centre of Ghent. The interior, the drinks – everything was made and produced in Belgium.
We renovated it with great care and respect for the building.

Bed & Breakfast
Three carefully designed luxury rooms — Belfort, Gravensteen and St Bavo’s Cathedral — each named after a nearby gem of Ghent, each featuring a colour of the Belgian flag.

Receptions & Events
Our spacious lounge and city garden are ideal for intimate receptions, workshops, photo shoots, breakfast, yoga, etc., for groups of 10 or more. There is a professional kitchen available for caterers to use.

The Belgian Girl is housed in a 19th-century building that once belonged to the church; We renovated the house with respect for the original features — the ornamentation, fireplaces and parquet flooring have all been left where they belong.
All the utilities have been updated, but we have interfered as little as possible with the building’s authenticity.
Belgian materials were used as much as possible.
The lighting, the wallpaper, the beds, the fabrics – everything made in Belgium.
Our food, drinks, including the wines, are all Belgian.

From the day of booking, you can leave your luggage with us from 9.00 am and gain access using a personal code.
Late check-in is possible by arrangement.
For events, we often work outside office hours.

When you arrive at the station you can install the app De Lijn to see our bus and tram shedules to get to us.Momentarily there are public works going on in some places so check carefully.
You can also take a taxi.What’s more, our central location makes it ideal for exploring other Belgian cities like Bruges, Brussels or Antwerp by train during your stay. We are right in the middle!

Via the E17 or E40 motorways. Follow the signs for ‘Gent-Centrum’ and then follow the parking signs to one of the multi-storey car parks in the city centre.

Ghent is a real cycling city, so you’re more than welcome to come by bike. You can safely park your bike in our garden without any problems. We’d also be happy to help you plan a lovely cycle route. Please do let us know in advance if you’re coming by bike.
